The test uses an immunochromatographic/lateral-flow assay principle. It is designed for rapid screening and provides a visual result without requiring complex laboratory equipment.

Test Principle

The Accurate HCV Card detects antibodies produced against Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). It is important to understand that the test detects Anti-HCV antibodies, not the HCV virus itself.

When an appropriate specimen is applied to the test device, any relevant HCV antibodies in the specimen react with the test components and produce a visible reaction line according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Important Clinical Information
