SGPT Bidab 30 mL is a clinical chemistry reagent used for the quantitative determination of Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT), also known as SGPT, in human serum or plasma.

ALT is an enzyme found predominantly in the liver. When liver cells are damaged, ALT activity in the blood may increase. For this reason, ALT/SGPT measurement is an important biochemical parameter used as part of liver-function assessment and related clinical investigations.

The Bidab SGPT reagent uses an IFCC kinetic method for enzyme activity measurement. In kinetic testing, the change in absorbance is monitored over time to determine ALT enzyme activity. IFCC kinetic SGPT/ALT methods commonly use a wavelength of 340 nm for photometric measurement.
